You can see military batteries (only four exist today), remains of a fort and many observation decks built by the Italians during the war.
From Alinda you are able to walk to the hidden beach of “Kryfos” discovering caves along the way where the residents would hide during the battle of Leros (November– December 1943).
For the more experienced hikers there are rougher walking routes, such as the climb up to the small church of St. Nikita and from there to the top of “Klidi”.
Up there you will experience the breath-taking view of the whole island and even of the nearby islands Patmos, Lipsi and Arki in the background.
